As I besought thee to abide still
at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some
that they teach no other doctrine, neither give heed to fables
and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly
edifying which is in faith: so do (1 Timothy 1:3,4).
And now the Spirit speaketh
expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith,
giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils: speaking lies
in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; forbidding
to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats. which God hath
created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know
the truth (1 Timothy 4:1-3).
All scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof for
correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be
perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. I charge thee
therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the
quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; preach the word; be
instant in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all
longsuffering and doctrine (2 Timothy 3:16-4:2; emphasis in all of
the above scripture references mine - bhl).
To the preachers of the world: are you
preaching the gospel of Christ (Romans 1:16), or are you preaching
another gospel, as was being done among the Galatians (Galatians 1:6-9)?
Readers, by comparing the preaching one hears with the Word of God,
everyone can know if the preacher is preaching the truth of the gospel
of Christ, or some other gospel which cannot save us!
